PEORIA - Reba Elaine Ellwanger, age 88, of Peoria passed away on Saturday, July 5, 2014, at Farmington Country Manor in Farmington.
Reba was born on Oct. 2, 1925, in Canton, Ill., to Guy and Martha (Frame) Woods. She married Robert J. Ellwanger Jr. on March 13, 1961. He preceded her in death.
Reba is survived by her two daughters, Sherri (Chuck) Bender of Florence, S.C., and Julie Ellwanger of Peoria, Ill.; her son, Michael Jon of Springfield, Ill.; three grandchildren, Maryia Kae and Michael Storm Ellwanger and Jaden Robert Williams; her sister, Connie Smith of Ormond Beach, Fla.; and her very special friend, Sondra Grossen.
Reba worked for International Harvester and Caterpillar and later for Newman and Ullman, where she was the top salesperson for Christmas candy.
She spent hours doing crossword puzzles and loved collecting turtles of all shapes and sizes from all around the world.
She was a devoted volunteer for the Cancer Center of Healthy Living and was a member of Averyville Baptist Church in East Peoria.
A visitation will be held today, July 8, 2014, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria. Cremation rites will be accorded following the services and interment will be at Parkview Cemetery in Peoria.
