Inez had been employed during World War II as a welder, helping in the war effort at the Anthony Co. in Streator. She later worked at the A&P Market and retired from Kroger's in Streator.

She was of the Lutheran faith and had been active as both a donor and volunteer at the Streator American Red Cross.

She attended Streator grade schools and was a graduate of Streator High School, Class of 1944.

A note from her children and grandchildren: Our Mom/Grandmother was the rock of the family. She was a strong and gracious woman who sacrificed much for us. Our lives were all enriched by having her as our role model. We will miss her every day, but are thankful that she is at peace. To her many friends, we'd like to express our appreciation for your thoughts and prayers over the past weeks. You were important to her.

She is survived by one daughter, Sheri (Larry) Johns of Bartonville; three sons, Gary (Karen) Heusel of Lincoln, Neb., Wayne (Sheri) Heusel of Hudson and Ronald Heusel of Arvada, Colo.; five grandchildren, Wayne Jr., Stephanie, Loren and Jason Heusel and Jeff Johns; one great-granddaughter, Cadie Johns; three sisters, Gen Haynes and Avis (Jim) Harcharik, both of Streator, and Nita Hedrick of Oregon; three brothers, Glen (Faye) Hedrick of Wisconsin, Howard (Sherry) Hedrick of Streator and Virl Hedrick, currently traveling; and a sister-in-law, Pat Reynolds of Belvidere; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two sisters, Wilma Hedrick, in infancy, and Carol Thomas; and one brother, Larry Hedrick.

Pallbearers will be her grandchildren and a great-nephew, Trevor Hedrick.

Memorials may be made to the Streator American Red Cross.
