WASHINGTON - Pearl L. Caldwell-Miller, 80, of Washington passed away at 7:25 a.m. on Saturday, July 19, 2014, at her residence.
Pearl was born in Pana, Ill., on March 8, 1934, to Arthur E. and Ester P. Dilley. She married Donald E. Caldwell on Dec. 1, 1951. He preceded her in death on April 4, 1980. She later married Robert E. Miller on Oct. 19, 1993, in Las Vegas, Nev. He survives.
Also surviving are her children, Terry (Stephanie) Cochran of Peoria, Don Caldwell of Washington, Randy Miller of East Peoria and Tammy Smith of East Peoria; siblings, Dale Cole of Pana, Princess Cohen of Cowden, Lydia Hibner of Chicago, Joe Cole of Carlinville and John Cole of East Peoria; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and several loving nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Kenny M. Cochran; husband, Don Caldwell; brothers, James Cole, Reuben Cole and Roy Gene Cole; and sisters, Mae Savage and Linda Cole.
Pearl attended Pana public schools in her early years of schooling.
Later in life, Pearl owned a Food-a-rama catering and restaurant business in the Washington area. She then worked at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in the cafeteria. She also worked for many years at Wal-Mart in Washington in the fabric department.
She always enjoyed being with her friends and family and listening to old country music.
A memorial service for Pearl will be held Wednesday, July 23, 2014, at 2:30 p.m. at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington. Monsignor Michael Bliss will officiate. There will be a visitation an hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the funeral home. Inurnment will be at Fondulac Cemetery in East Peoria.
Memorial contributions may be made towards the medical expenses for her and her husband, Robert Miller.
