TREMONT - Dick Muselman, 72, of Tremont passed away at 11:15 a.m. Friday, July 25, 2014, at his home.
He was born Sept. 25, 1941, in Peoria to Richard and Mary McDonald Muselman. He married Susan B. Montgomery on Jan. 13, 1962, in Tremont, and she survives.
Also surviving are one daughter, Stacey (Todd) Prather of Tremont; one son, Steven (Krista) Muselman of Tremont; five grandsons, Matthew (Missy), Jesse and Benjamin Prather, and Joseph and Justin Muselman, all of Tremont; four great-grandchildren, Cali, Austin, Lily Sue and Emme Jo; and one sister, Bonnie (Gene) Gasper of Tremont.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one daughter, Peggy Ann.
Dick worked at Keystone Steel & Wire Co. in Bartonville, retiring in 1995.
He was an active member of Tremont Baptist Church and was known throughout Tremont as the "Voice of the Turks."
He also was an original member of the Tremont Football League.
He enjoyed attending community sporting events, especially those of his children and grandchildren.
His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday, July 28, 2014, at Tremont Baptist Church. Pastor Noah Lee will officiate. Visitation will be from 3 to 6 p.m. today, also at the church. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery in Tremont. Davis-Oswald Funeral Home in Tremont is handling the arrangements.
Memorials may be made to his church or the Dick Muselman Athletic Fund through Tremont High School.
