FLANAGAN - Stephen Crayton, 27, of Flanagan, Ill., formerly of Peoria, Ill., passed away at 10:42 a.m. on Wednesday, July 30, 2014, at Saint James-John W. Albrecht Medical Center in Pontiac, Ill.
Stephen was born on April 24, 1987, in Southfield, Mich., to Herman and Denise (McIntosh) Crayton.
Stephen leaves to cherish his precious memories his son, Truth Crayton of Flanagan, Ill.; his parents, Herman and Denise Crayton; two brothers, Kendall Crayton and Austin Crayton, both of Peoria; grandparents, Jerry and Sarah Crayton of Brimfield, Ill., and Melvin and Geraldine McIntosh of Detroit, Mich.; his girlfriend, Jacquelyn Steinhilber of Flanagan, Ill.; and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Nancy Vann; and great-grandparents, Mervin and Artie Vann.
Stephen attended Peoria Christian High School, where he ran track and played soccer. He graduated from Lincoln Challenge Academy of Rantoul, Ill. He worked as a manager at Hardee's in El Paso, Ill., for four years and also as an installer at Sunguard for two years.
Stephen declared his faith in God on Jan. 7, 2001. He was a member of Bradley Epworth Church in Peoria, Ill.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2014, at Bradley Epworth Church, with a visitation one hour prior at 10 a.m. Pastor Tom Eckhardt will officiate.
