PEORIA - Phyllis Jean Blair Marshall, 97, of Bradbury, Calif., formerly of Arcadia, Calif., and Peoria, Ill., passed away Wednesday, July 23, 2014, at her home in Royal Oaks Manor in Bradbury, Calif.
She was born June 23, 1917, in Peoria to William H. and Nellie R. Blair.
Phyllis grew up in Peoria and graduated from Peoria (Central) High School. After high school, she attended Bradley University, where she received a degree in history.
Phyllis married Bill Marshall in 1940. They were happily married for 57 years.
Phyllis was a member of Arcadia Presbyterian Church, Santa Anita Garden Club, Panhellenic and P.E.O. She enjoyed tennis, bridge, reading, traveling, and most of all, spending time with her family. She will lovingly be remembered for her generosity of spirit and warm, outgoing personality.
Phyllis is survived by her son, Lee (Kotomi) of Arcadia, Calif.; her daughters, Judi (Morris) Anderson of Anaheim, Calif., and Barbara (Jay) Lewallen of San Francisco, Calif.; her brother, William (Marty) Blair of Sun City, Ariz.; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Dan Bergin of Olympia Fields, Ill.; and many loving nephews and nieces.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband, Bill; and her sister, Barbara.
A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 9, 2014, at Royal Oaks Manor, 1763 Royal Oaks Drive N., in Bradbury, CA 91010. Private inurnment will be in Live Oak Memorial Park in Monrovia, Calif.
