ELMWOOD - Franklin "Jack" Wickwire, age 77, of Bushnell, Fla., formerly of Elmwood, Ill., passed away Thursday, July 17, 2014, in Inverness, Fla.
Jack was born on June 23, 1937, in Peoria County, Ill.
He worked as a truck driver, was a past member of the NRA, enjoyed communicating on amateur radios, was an avid NASCAR fan and loved spending time with his family.
Survivors include his three sons, Jonathan Ray (Nancy) Wickwire of Geneseo, Ill., Alan Brian (Joy) Wickwire of Phoenix, Ariz., and Patrick Scott Wickwire of Bushnell, Fla.; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two brothers, Douglas Wickwire of Galesburg, Ill., and Ralph "Bill" (Lois) Wickwire of Pinckneyville, Ill.; and two sisters, Berdella Smith of Galesburg, Ill., and Inez (Jim) Bevard of Galesburg, Ill.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Anita Lorraine Wickwire; a son, Ricky Dean Wickwire; and a daughter, Christine Marie Wickwire.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 9, 2014, at Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Elmwood, Ill., with Pastor Paul Ritter officiating. Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 9, 2014, at Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Elmwood, Ill. Memorial donations may be made to the Lupus Foundation of America.
