PEORIA - Emily Tanner, 87, of Peoria died on Sunday, Aug. 3, 2014, at Apostolic Christian Skylines in Peoria.
She was born Aug. 24, 1926, in Deer Creek to Rudolph and Mina (Haefeli) Tanner.
Emily is survived by one brother, Ben Tanner of Goodfield; 33 nieces and nephews; 105 great-nieces and -nephews; 252 great-great-nieces and -nephews; and 25 great-great-great-nieces and -nephews.
She was preceded in death by five brothers, Adolph, Gotthold, Paul, John and an infant brother, William. Also preceding her in death were five sisters, Adele Stahl, Clara Yackley, Minnie Grusy, Mary Tanner and Martha Tanner; and four nieces and nephews.
She retired from Caterpillar Inc. in 1982, where she worked in the parts department and did clerical work.
Emily was a member of Sheridan Road Apostolic Christian Church, where a funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 9, 2014. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:15 a.m., prior to the service at the church, and from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 8, 2014, at Cumerford-Hurd Funeral Home, located at 428 W. McClure Ave., Peoria.
