Fredrick Roosevelt Obituary

WASHINGTON - Fredrick J. Roosevelt, 95, of Washington, Ill., died at 11:15 p.m. Monday, Feb. 1, 2010, at Rosewood Care Center in East Peoria.

Born on April 17, 1914, in Albion, Ill., to Elmer and Emma Mode Roosevelt, he married Catharine Berry on April 17, 1935, in Mount Carmel, Ill. She preceded him in death on July 3, 2001, in Peoria, Ill.

Surviving are one son, Steven (Bea) Roosevelt of Deer Creek, Ill.; one daughter, Marianne Boundy of East Peoria, Ill.; one brother, Harold Roosevelt of Albion, Ill.; four grandchildren, Lynnette Boundy, Colleen (Ken) Miller, Spencer (Stacey) Roosevelt and John (Dawn) Roosevelt; and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, seven brothers and sisters and a grandson, Donnie Boundy.

Fred was a supervisor of manufacturing engineers at Caterpillar Tractor Co., where he worked for 42 1/2 years, retiring in 1977.

He was a Mason and enjoyed woodworking. He also was an avid golfer.

A memorial visitation for Fred will be from 10 a.m. to 12 noon on Saturday, Feb. 6, 2010, at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington. Cremation rites have been accorded and burial of the cremated remains will be in Glendale Cemetery in Washington at a later date.
