Laurence Wise Obituary
PEORIA - Laurence Earl Wise, age 97, of Peoria, Ill., formerly of Harrisburg, Ill., passed away at his residence on Saturday, April 3, 2010, at 8:45 a.m.
He was born on Oct. 14, 1912, to Grover C. and Bertha (Johnson) Wise in Harrisburg. He married Mary Louise Alvey in Harrisburg. She precedes him in death.
Surviving him are two sons, Grover (Mary) Wise of Peoria and Roger (Marcia) Wise of Parker, Colo.; two granddaughters, Michelle (Peter) Kiehl of Florida and Ginger Wise of Peoria; one great-grandson, Joel Sopher of Peoria; and one sister, Bertha Rosalie (Wise) DeNeal of Harrisburg.
He retired from Caterpillar Tractor Company in East Peoria in 1979.
Funeral services will be held at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg. He will be buried in Sunset Hill Cemetery in Harrisburg.

Joel went to Homecoming over the weekend. Him and his girlfriend had a great time.
Mom went back to work after spending time in Flordia with Michelle. Michelle and Peter had a little girl. Her name is Gabriella Lynne. She is doing well. Michael is too.
Dad is still working with the rental and going to Hardees.
I work all the time. I manage the cab company for Dad. Plus work 6 days a week for another company. So I have my hands full.

Mom and Dad are in florida visiting Michelle. Which means I get to take care of the rental property. We just found out Michelle is pregnant again! Praying everything goes well you will have 3 great grandchildren. She has been sick most of the time. Maybe she will get over it soon!
Off to bed I go. Joel is having a good time with his cousin Shawn while I am at work. He goes back to school next week.

Hello! How are you? We are doing ok. It has been 2 years today since you left us to be with our Heavenly Father. I talk about you all the time. I just showed your picture to a lady at work.
Are you and Aunt Rosalie having a great time?
Joel is doing well. He is a freshman this year. I think he has the hang of it.
Michael is getting so big. I think he looks like his daddy. He is 16 months old and has come a long way.
Mom and Dad are doing well. Mom is still working and dad is working on rental. As usual.
I am suppose to take your walker to a lady from church today. Praying she will be able to use it. She has cancer and Mom offered it to her.

Dear Grandpa, On year ago today God took you home. This day was hard on all of us. We know that you are in a better place. You passed away on the Saturday before Easter 2010. Joel had to light candles at church on Easter Sunday. He is suppose to again today. I did put flowers on the altar in memory of you.
When I think of you. I tear up. I miss you very much. I know Joel misses you as well. We think of you often.
Joel will be getting confirmed and graduate from grade school this year. I have a high schooler, Grandpa. Im getting old.(SMILE)

Dear Grandpa, Today December 29, 2010 you had a great grandson born again! His name is Michael Peter Kiehl. He was born at 3:02pm. His weight was 3lbs 7oz. Michelle and Peter are doing ok. Michelle is tired. But she will be even better when she see your son. Congrats Great Grandpa Wise! Mom said she wants to bring him home to Illinois. Wonder if Michelle and Peter will let her?? I dont think so! But once they realize they dont want to get up in the middle of the night. They might mom and tell her to take him. Smile!! Love you Grandpa!

Grandpa, I think of you everyday! I miss you very much! You have been a great part in my life. Every person has a story with many chapters. You have are in all my chapters.
Found out that a friend's son has passed. He was 21 years old. I know the grief that the family is feeling. I havent been to a funeral since yours.
I remember walking into your room on April 3, 2010 at 7:20am. To find that you had gone to our Heavenly Father. The feeling was that I should cry. But I knew that I had to call Michelle to let her know. I had to wake Joel to tell him as well. I am thankful that you gave me the chance to take care of you and gave Joel the chance to know his Great Grandpa! I love you!
