CREVE COEUR - Jerry Lee Hemphill, 74, of Palm Desert, Calif., formerly of Creve Coeur, died Wednesday, Oct. 20, 2010, at Yorkshire House in Hemet, Calif., where he had been a resident for three years.
Jerry was born on July 7, 1936, in Pana, Ill. He was the son of the late Forest Hemphill and the late Floy (Hawkins) Hemphill.
He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.
Jerry is survived by three daughters, Renee Hoffman of San Diego, Calif., Andrea Hysell of Yucaipa, Calif., and Michelle Dyer of Pismo Beach, Calif.; a son, Robert Galleger of Pekin; two sisters, Larna Swart of Delavan and Charlotte Saurs of Grand Junction, Colo.; a companion, Helen Eckert of Palm Desert, Calif.; 12 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Burial was in Riverside National Cemetery at staging area 4.
Miller-Jones Mortuary in Hemet was handling arrangements.
