Teresa Moore Obituary

CHILLICOTHE - Teresa Kay Moore, age 38, of Chillicothe, Ill., died on Monday night, Jan. 31, 2011.

She was brutally slain in her Chillicothe residence. She was pronounced dead by the Peoria County coroner at 9:15 p.m.

Teresa was born on Oct. 10, 1972, daughter of Ray and Linda Shafer Greiner. She married Gordon K. Moore II on Dec. 17, 1994, in Chillicothe, Ill. They were separated pending a divorce at the time of her death.

Surviving Teresa are three beautiful children, Elizabeth Louise, Joshua Dean and Tyler Keith Moore, all of Chillicothe. Also surviving are her parents of Henry, Ill.; one sister, Michelle (Chris) Brown and their children, Logan, McKenzie and Delaney of South Elgin, Ill.; one brother, Brandon (Theresa) Greiner and their children, Devon and Madi of Lacon, Ill.; maternal grandparents, Carl and Louise Barber Shafer of Sparland, Ill.; a special aunt, Roselle Shafer and daughter, Maya of Chicago, Ill. Other survivors included are aunt, Sue and uncle, Art Greiner; cousins, Jenny and Tricia Greiner; aunt, Bonnie Greiner; and cousin, Sarah Harshman.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Ed and Emilie Schupbach Greiner; uncle, Ben Greiner; uncle, Steve Shafer; and cousin, David Greiner.

A 1990 graduate of Henry Senachwine High School, she attended two years at Judson College in Elgin and graduated from ISU in 1995.

Teresa was an IRA specialist at CEFCU on Airport Road in Peoria and attended the Richwoods Christian Church at the time of her death.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 7, 2011, at the Chillicothe Bible Church. The Rev. Joe Horn will officiate. A visitation will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 6, 2011, also at the church and one hour prior to the funeral service. Burial to follow and it will be in the Henry Cemetery. Lenz Memorial Home in Lacon is handling the arrangements.

Memorial may be directed to the education fund of Teresa's children, established through the Henry State Bank, 700 Second St., Henry, IL 61537.
