Philip Kimbrell Obituary

DAHINDA - Philip Wayne "Phil" Kimbrell, 22, of Dahinda died at 10:51 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 17, 2011, at OSF St. Mary Medical Center in Galesburg.

Cremation has been accorded, and a memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 22, at Rux Funeral Home in Williamsfield. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Private inurnment will be held at a later date.

Memorials may be directed to the Knox County Humane Society.

Phil was born Sept. 15, 1988, in Pekin, the son of Mark A. and Lisa Jo (Chapman) Kimbrell.

Survivors include his parents of Dahinda; maternal grandparents, Bob (Jean) Chapman of Paducah, Ky.; a sister, Bobbie Jo (Timothy Barnes) Wiley of Pekin; two nieces, Leah Michelle Hicks and Anna Grace Hicks; a nephew, Daniel Breymeier; and his aunts and uncles, Kathy (Rich) Carlton of East Peoria, Karen (Ben) Cunningham of Portland, Ore., Mike (Jody) Kimbrell of Hanna City, Ill., Linda (Burke) Chapman Shulman of Paducah, Ky., and Theresa Burgess of Virginia Beach, Va.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Virgil (Mary) Kimbrell.

He was a 2008 graduate of Knoxville High School.

He had worked as a farmhand on the family homestead.

He enjoyed computers, music, cats, dirt bikes, camping, fishing, attending youth group and keeping up with friends on the computer.
