TOULON - Harold "Bucky" Mortimer Jr., 76, of Toulon, Ill., passed away at 12:19 a.m. on Tuesday, April 5, 2011, at Kewanee Hospital in Kewanee, Ill.
He was born on Oct. 16, 1934, in Wyoming, Ill., to Harold A. and Grace (Malone) Mortimer Sr. He married Bertha D. Lind on Nov. 15, 1953, in Toulon, Ill.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Surviving are his wife, Bertha of Toulon; and two children, Keith E. (fiancee, Kathy Wiker) Mortimer of Minier, Ill., and Kimberly L. (Dick) Roberts of Hamilton, Ill. Also surviving are six grandchildren, Brad (Jackie) Mortimer, Jennifer (Shawn) Baker, Tanya (fiance, Phil Rankin) Mortimer, Sheri (Kevin) Ritter, Chris Roberts and Briana Wiker; and seven great-grandchildren, Clayton, Colton and Carter Mortimer, Ethan and Kaitlin Baker and Mason and Andrew Ritter.
Harold worked as a meat cutter for over 20 years with Super Value in Galva, Ill., and last in maintenance with Bob Evans Packaging before retiring in 1996.
He was a volunteer fireman and a former trustee with the Toulon Volunteer Fire Department.
Harold enjoyed hunting, trap shooting, playing cards, traveling and spending time with family and friends, and at one time he was a justice of the peace.
Cremation rites will be accorded, and a celebration of life service will be held at a later date.
Schmidt-Haller Burial and Cremation service in Peoria is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials may be made to the Toulon Volunteer Fire Department.

We were shocked to hear of Harold's passing, he was truly a people person and such a fun loving guy and a pleasure to be around. Will miss him when we are in Florida and he will be having a beer and playing cards with his friends in heaven. God Bless.
