GERMANTOWN HILLS - Stephen William Tisserat, age 25, of Corona, Calif., formerly of Germantown Hills, Ill., passed away Thursday, April 7, 2011, in California.
He was born Oct. 20, 1985, in Fontana, Calif., to Brent and Vickie (Pelton) Tisserat.
Surviving are his father, Brent Tisserat of Washington, Ill.; his mother, Vickie (Steve) Paluska of Metamora, Ill.; brothers, Tim Tisserat of Chicago and Chris (Mylene) Tisserat of Corona, Calif.; and his sister, Stephanie Tisserat of Washington, Ill. He also is survived by his grandfather, John (Carole) Pelton of Pomona, Calif.; and his grandmother, Anita Pelton of Washington, Ill.; along with many aunts, uncles, stepsisters and stepbrothers.
Stephen was a 2004 graduate of Metamora Township High School, where he played football and wrestled.
He attended Chico State University in Chico, Calif.
He was a five-year veteran of the Navy and the Army, first serving aboard the USS Boxer in the Persian Gulf twice, then transferring to the Army and serving in Afghanistan from 2009 to 2010.
Stephen enjoyed snowboarding, camping, reading, traveling, riding his motorcycle and spending time with family and friends.
He was of the Lutheran faith.
A memorial visitation for friends and family will be Thursday, April 14, 2011, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Mason Funeral Home, Germantown Hills Chapel. Cremation rites have been accorded.
