HOPEDALE - Mark Musselman, 39, of Ault, Colo., son of a Hopedale couple, died Tuesday, May 17, 2011 in Weld County, Colo.
He was born May 28, 1971, in Ottumwa, Iowa, and grew up on the family farm south of Bloomfield, Iowa, with his parents, Roger and Nancy Musselman, and brothers, Matthew, Michael, Aaron and Andrew.
Mark enjoyed life on the farm and was involved in milking cows and raising beef cattle and hogs with his family. His favorite activity on the farm was training and riding horses. He developed his strong work ethic early in life and was frequently the fixer for broken farm machinery.
Mark committed his life to Christ at age 17. He graduated from Davis County Community High School in Iowa in 1989 and pursued a career in construction and contracting sales.
Mark married Dana Massner in 1991 and had two sons, Cole and Clayton. Mark later married Ara O'Hayre in 2003.
Mark was employed at Champion Windows in Loveland, Colo., as the manager of window sales and installation. He attended Vineyard Church in Fort Collins, Colo.
Mark was known for his smile and kind nature. As a hard-working and giving person, he was always willing to help others in need. He is missed by all who love him.
Surviving are his sons, Cole 18, of Mediapolis, Iowa, and Clayton 15, of Mediapolis, Iowa; parents, Roger and Nancy Musselman of Hopedale, Ill.; brothers, Matthew Musselman (Lynne) of Kansas City, Mo., Michael Musselman (Carrie Ann) of Goodfield, Ill., Aaron Musselman (Nichole) of Mount Pleasant, Iowa, and Andrew Musselman, of Morton, Ill.; and grandparents, Cleo and Esther Rinkenberger of Peoria, Ill.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Howard and Irene Musselman.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial is established to help fund college education for Mark's sons, Cole and Clayton. Checks may be made payable to Musselman Education Fund in care of Adamson Funeral & Cremation Services, 2000 47th Avenue, Greeley, CO 80634.
Services were May 24 in Danville, Iowa. Hagele and Honts Funeral Home in Mediapolis, Iowa, was in charge of arrangements. Burial was in Kossuth Cemetery in Mediapolis, Iowa. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.adamsonchapels.com.
