PEORIA - Scott C. Hopkins, 58, of Peoria passed away at 6:51 p.m. Monday, Oct. 3, 2011, at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
He was born on Feb. 26, 1953, in Lincoln, Ill., the son of Hollis C. and Bettyjean Allison Hopkins.
After moving to Marquette Heights as a young boy and living there until 1984, he moved to Peoria, where he met Debra J. Bornholdt, whom he married on March 9, 1985, in Peoria.
Surviving are his wife of Peoria; his mother, Bettyjean Dudley of Chillicothe; and two sisters, Teri (Rod) Huss of Chillicothe and Vivienne Nelson of Marvel, Colo. Four nieces and four nephews also survive him.
His father and grandparents preceded him in death.
He was a master certified automotive technician working for Neal Norton Cadillac in Peoria, Scherer Buick in North Pekin and last working for Peoria Toyota until 2008.
He was a loving husband and enjoyed spending time with family and his many friends, as well as his two dogs.
He enjoyed drag racing, playing pool and enjoyed listening to all types of music. He will be missed by all.
Cremation rites have been accorded with private family services to be held at a later date.
Memorials may be given in Scott's name to T.A.P.S. in Pekin.
