EL PASO - Warren J. Rundles, 89, of El Paso died at 11:50 a.m. Friday, Oct. 14, 2011, at Advocate Bromenn Medical Center in Normal.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today at Calvert-Johnson & Froelich Memorial Home in El Paso, with the Rev. Jonathan Boehne officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery in El Paso. Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. until time of service today at the memorial home.
Memorials may be made to Woodford County 4-H Program or to the Central Illinois Angus Association.
Warren was born Nov. 20, 1921, in El Paso, Ill., to Charles and Lilly (Steiglemeyer) Rundles. He married Eloise Shutt on Sept. 18, 1943, in Bloomington, Ill. She preceded him in death on Oct. 4, 2010.
Surviving are his partners in the Rundles Angus Farms, Brent and Jenny Henkel of El Paso; their children, Abe and Kate; a sister-in-law, Magda Rundles of New Mexico; and nieces and nephews, John Rundles, Susan Mize, Doug Rundles and Robin Rundles.
His parents and one brother, Charles Rundles, preceded him in death.
Warren was a founding member of the Central Illinois Angus Association and a member of the American Angus Association.
The great love of his life was his Angus cattle. He was always proud to show and tell others about his cattle. Warren did not give up caring for his cattle until the very end.
He will also be remembered for his jokes and story telling.
