WASHINGTON - Jeffrey M. Nelson, 40, of Washington passed away at his home early Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2011.
Jeff was born on Sept. 8, 1971, in Peoria to Robert and Patricia Cain Nelson. He married Carrie Salmon on Aug. 6, 2011 in Sommer Park, Peoria. Carrie survives.
Also surviving are his parents, Bob and Pat Nelson of Brimfield; daughters, Olivia Salmon and Savannah Thomas, at home; his parents-in-law, Richard and Christy Parr of Benson and Gregory and Cyndi Salmon of New York; a sister, Kristen (Larry) Daniel of Kickapoo; nieces and nephews, Trenton, Wyatt and Lucas Daniel, Sage, Skai and Autumn Salmon, Sakari Walter and Miles, Liam and Amelia Roger; two aunts; one uncle; and many cousins.
He was loved by all.
Jeff was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents, one uncle and one cousin.
He was a 1990 graduate of Manual High School, where he was an all-conference catcher and played in the Illinois State All-Star Baseball Game. Jeff attended Parkland Junior College, Eastern Illinois University and Columbia University in Chicago. Jeff was a videographer, worked for Rolling Stone magazine, Chicago, and traveled to Cannes Film Festival for Rolling Stone. He loved music, especially the Beatles, and played guitar. Jeff toured with various bands. He was extremely creative and taught art to his children. Jeff was a die-hard Cubs and Bears fan. He was of the Methodist faith.
A celebration of Jeff's life will be held Sunday, Dec.11, at 4 p.m. at Mason-White Funeral Home, Washington. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday. Cremation rites will be accorded following services.
