PEORIA - Elder Earl Edward Cagle I, 63, of Peoria passed away Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2012, at Methodist Medical Center at 2:11 a.m.
He was born March 28, 1949, in Peoria to Claude J. Cagle and Mildred Russell. He married Hattie Bea Causey in 1978. She survives.
Earl served in the U.S. Army.
He was also a member of Holy Tabernacle COGIC, where he was an Associate Minister.
He loved to play chess and interacting with family and friends.
In addition to his wife, he leaves to cherish his precious memories, four sons, Earl E. Cagle II of Peoria, Enta (Shawntrese) Durflinger of Louisville, Ky., La Earl McBride and Eddie (Mechell) Coleman, both of Peoria; three daughters, Erica Durflinger, Tiffany (Johnnie) Cagle-Smith and Teresa Coleman, all of Peoria; two brothers, Bobby J. Cagle and Edward (Letha) Cagle, both of Peoria; two sisters, Ruby Mae Winters Anderson and Barbara (George) Cagle-Welch, both of Peoria; 20 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, sisters-in-law and many loved ones who adored him.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers.
Services will be held Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2012, at Greater City of Refuge Worship Center at 11 a.m., with visitation commencing one hour prior at 10 a.m. Elder Fred Watson Sr. and Bishop Timothy Criss will officiate. Earl will be laid to rest in the Lutheran Cemetery. The family has chosen T.W. Parks Colonial Chapel to handle the final arrangements of their loved one.
