Having recently come across Mr. Till's writings as a Christian-turned-atheist, I eagerly read what he said about his turning away from Christianity, having recently found myself in a similar period of doubt and darkness. However, finding that Mr. Till had passed, I read his obituary which includes the statement "He was a missionary in Europe and had been an ordained minister". Missing from his obituary were references to his doubt, disappointment and criticism of God. Our need for God to fill the God-shaped hole in our hearts woke me up. Fresh in my belief and love for God, I thank God for Mr. Till and his story leading to my renewed salvation. May the God of us all show Mr. Till His love and compassion, and prove Himself to be Who He says He is- throughout the Holy Bible.
