KEWANEE - Leona J. Stewart, 83, of Kewanee passed away at 10:50 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2012.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 11, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at the church. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery.

She was born Sept. 20, 1929, in LaFayette, Ill., the daughter of William Alonzo and Elizabeth F. (Golden) Moulton. She married Lyle J. Stewart on April 17, 1948, at Visitation Catholic Church in Kewanee.
He survives, as do a son, Martin "Marty" Stewart of Windsor, Wis.; a daughter, Kathy (Ronald) Foes of Annawan; three sisters, Rosemarie Sisson of East Moline and Lois Egbert and Harriet Saey, both of Kewanee; eight grandchildren, Jennifer Foes and fiance, Michael Wurbel, Scott (Erin Infusino) Foes, Stephanie (Jimmy) Evans, Christopher Foes and Amanda, Eric, Lianna and Sarah Stewart; and four great-grandchildren, Madeline, Charlie and Gianna Evans and Christopher Foes.
She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers and two sisters.
Leona graduated from Kewanee High School in 1947.
She was a bookkeeper at First Federal Savings and Loan Association for 35 years, retiring in 1991.
She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church.
She enjoyed flower gardening and especially spending time with her family.
