CANTON - Dorothy Jean Gorman, 85, of Canton died at 4:50 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2012, at Graham Hospital in Canton.
She was born on June 2, 1927, in Mason City to Ray and Katherine (Vail) Harris. She married Raymond E. Gorman on Sept. 7, 1951, in Peoria. He preceded her in death on Sept. 10, 2011.
She is survived by three daughters, Kathy (Jim) Yocum of Dunlap, Sandy (Lee) Amato of Fort Lupton, Colo., and Margie (the late Ken) Rosenberger of Canton; five grandchildren, Kerry (Brandy) Yocum, Andy Yocum, Katie (Daniel) Musisi, Alison Yocum and Jonathon Rosenberger; one stepgrandson, Chuck Rosenberger; and one great-grandchild, Reid Kenneth Ray Yocum.
Jean previously worked for the election commission for the City of Peoria, JC Penney's and, alongside her husband, was co-owner of the Poplar Lane Beach Club in Peoria Heights.
She was of the Lutheran faith.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012, at First English Lutheran Church in Peoria, where visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of service. The Rev. Dr. James Lillie will officiate.
