MORTON - David C. Farney, 62, of Morton died at 6:32 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 2, 2012, at his home.
He was born Nov. 20, 1950, in Peoria to Earl and Irene J. (Rumbold) Farney. He married Sharon K. Armbrust on May 27, 1978, in Manito.
Surviving are his wife, Sharon Farney of Morton; his children, Stephanie (Michael) Dillon and Michael Farney, both of Chicago, Ill., and Kevin (Candice) Farney of Colorado Springs, Colo.; one brother, Daniel (Mary) Farney of Morton; and one sister, Janice (Danny) Sturm of Wyoming, Ill.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister.
David was currently employed in maintenance at Caterpillar Inc. through the URS Corporation, last working Friday. He previously owned and operated Farney Plumbing and Heating in Morton for 10 years.
He was a member of Community United Church of Christ in Morton.
David was an avid Chicago Bears and Cubs fan and played in numerous pool leagues in the area.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 6, 2012, at Community United Church of Christ in Morton, with the Rev. Jeff Johnston officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 5, at Knapp-Johnson Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Morton, and from 9 to 9:45 a.m. Thursday at the church. Burial will be in Hirstein Cemetery in Morton.
