Laura - Frank C. Bridson, 96, of Dover, Del., formerly of Laura, Ill., died at 7:48 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2013, at his residence.

Frank was born Sept. 8, 1916, in Chillicothe, Ill., the son of Clarence F. and Ruth Sweetnam Bridson.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Barbara Wheat Bridson; two sons, Richard of Monroe, Conn., and James of Lacey, Wash.; one sister, Ruth Harker of Upper Saddle River, N.J.; and many nieces and nephews.

Frank was preceded in death by his first wife, Margaret McDonald Bridson; one brother, Thomas M. Bridson; and sister, Betty Rogge.

Frank honorably served in the United States Army during World War II in the European Theater.

He was a claims executive with Continental Insurance in New York City, Chicago, San Francisco and Columbus, Ohio.

Since his retirement, Frank was a volunteer with the Delaware State Police.

Frank was an avid bowler and participated in the Senior Olympics.

He was a member of Christ Church in Dover, Del.

Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013, at Brimfield Cemetery. There will be no visitation.
