DELAVAN - Warren Cain, 87, of Delavan passed away at 10:20 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2013, at Apostolic Christian Restmor in Morton.
He was born March 12, 1925, in Kentucky to Lawrence H. and Gracie Barker Cain. He married Ruby L. Hawkins on July 3, 1948, in Pellville, Ky., and she survives.
Also surviving are one daughter, Rita (John) Waller of Edelstein; two sons, Denzil (Carol) Cain of Delavan and Keith (Melody) Cain of Tremont; five grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two stepgreat-grandchildren; one brother, Johnnie (Arnora) Cain of Philport, Ky.; and one uncle, Ernie (Maxine) Barker of Peoria.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Warren worked at Caterpillar Inc. in East Peoria for 30 years, retiring in 1982.
He was a U.S. Army veteran.
He attended New Life Fellowship in Hopedale, Emmanuel Baptist Church in Frostproof, Fla., and formerly attended Liberty Baptist Church in Pekin.
He and Ruby enjoyed 30 years of wintering in Florida where they enjoyed fishing and bicycling.
His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 21, 2013, at Davis Mortuary in Delavan. Pastor Charles Houston of Green Valley Presbyterian Church will officiate. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the mortuary. Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin, with military honors provided by Delavan American Legion Post 382.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to New Life Fellowship in Hopedale.
