PEORIA - Chris Sherman Schade of Knoxville, Tenn., formerly of Peoria, died Thursday, Feb. 28, 2013.
He leaves his wife of 54 years, Carol JoAnn (Taylor) Schade; his sons, Tim Schade and wife Sindy Dawkins-Schade, Randy Schade and wife Sandra Schade, Thomas R. Monroe and Ricky Lee Schade and wife Paula Schade; daughter, Lynn Ann Carrier and husband Chris Carrier; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; sisters, Mary Plumber of Hanna City, Ill., Dorothy Reichelderfer of Denver, Colo., Ruth Platte of Texas and Alice Glass and husband Joe Glass of Alpine, Calif.; brother, James O. Schade and wife Dorothy Schade of Cottonwood, Ariz.; sister-in-law, Rozzella Schade of Boulder, Colo.; bother-in-law, Troy Taylor and wife Debbie Taylor of St. Cloud, Fla.; and many close friends.
Chris was preceded in death by brothers, Thomas and J.C. Schade.
Chris was born on Jan. 15, 1935, in Peoria, Ill., the son of William and Vena Schade.
Chris served in the Army and was stationed in Germany during his early adult years and retired from the City of Knoxville Construction Department.
Chris was a member of the National Street Rod Association and had a passion for rebuilding and showing street rods.
Chris was a member of the Masonic Temple Lodge 46 and the Scottish Rite Consistory in Peoria, Ill.
Chris will be cremated at Highland Memorial Funeral Home. Services have not been planned at this time.
