PEORIA - Pearl M. Colvin, age 92, of Peoria passed away on Wednesday, May 1, 2013, at Proctor Hospital in Peoria.
Pearl was born on Aug. 12, 1920, in Bartonville, Ill., to George and Ella (Peters) Janssen. She married N. Wayne Colvin on Oct. 26, 1940, in Bartonville. He preceded her in death on April 9, 1978.
Pearl is survived by her children, Richard (Janet) Colvin of Brimfield, Ill., Patricia (Russell) Mulvaney of Columbia City, Ind., and Terry (Diane) Colvin of O'Fallon, Ill.; her daughter-in-law, Mary Colvin; 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; her eldest son, Larry Colvin on May 6, 2012; her sisters, Elsie Janssen, Minnie Alder, Helen Berry, Gertrude Kawalsky, Lena Kutkat and Eileen Kidd; and her brother, Andrew "Drake" Janssen.
In her younger years, Pearl enjoyed dancing and she loved growing flowers.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 4, 2013, at 11:30 a.m. at Swan Lake Memory Gardens with the Rev. Paul Arnold officiating. Visitation also will be on Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Cumerford-Hurd Funeral Home in Peoria.
