TREMONT - Gena Belle McBeath, 80, of Tremont passed away at 8:15 a.m., Tuesday, May 21, 2013, at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria.
She was born on June 25, 1932, in Union Hill, Ill., to Russell and Elsie Bloxam Schott. She married Elmer McBeath on Sept. 14, 1952, in Reddick, Ill., and he survives.
Also surviving are one son, Kurt McBeath of Mapleton; three daughters, Denise (Butch) Shields, Lori Venovich, and Cindy Gain, all of Tremont; one brother, Kent Schott of Herscher; and one sister, Sherry (Clarence) Moranski of Essex. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Keith Schott of Essex and Kim Schott of Buckingham, Ill.
Gena has left a legacy of 13 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was a homemaker and spent her life lovingly caring for her family. She enjoyed spending time with her family, playing cards, investigating genealogy, and "puzzing" or putting together puzzles.
Cremation has been accorded.
She was a member of Tremont United Methodist Church, where her memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 25, 2013. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday and one hour before the service, also at the church. Private burial of the ashes will be at a later date. Davis Mortuary in Tremont is handling the arrangements.
