BUSHNELL - Beverly Jane Naslund, 63, passed away and went to the arms of her Lord on Monday, June 10, 2013.

Beverly passed away peacefully at her home in Bushnell, Ill., surrounded by her friends and family.

She was born on June 9, 1950, to Charles and Rosy Ogle at Saint Francis Hospital in Macomb, Ill., and lived in and around the Bushnell/Avon area for the majority of her life.

Beverly was a 1968 graduate of Bushnell-Prairie City High School, received a Bachelor of Science degree as a 1972 graduate of Western Illinois University in Macomb and ultimately achieved a late-in-life dream of her Masters of Science degree from WIU in 2000.

She taught for 28 years as a business teacher for Avon High School. She went on to be a K-12 Professional Development Coordinator at WIU and then took a position as branch director of the Bushnell branch of Carl Sandburg College, which she later retired from. Beverly was noted for numerous professional accomplishments along the way . . . The Boomerang (The Avon High School yearbook of 1990-91) was dedicated to Beverly, and she was twice voted as the Most Inspirational Teacher by incoming WIU students.

She is survived by her parents, Charles and Rosy Ogle; two daughters, Erika Naslund and Christina (Ian) Davis; a sister, Elizabeth (Jack) Porter; and her fiance, Alan Pepper.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Richard, and two nieces, Sarah and Nora Jennings.

Beverly loved attending church, playing bridge and enjoying her family and friends. Her kind spirit and warm heart will be greatly missed.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, June 14, 2013, at the Avon United Methodist Church in Avon, Ill. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 13, 2013, at the Martin-Hollis Funeral Home in Bushnell, Ill., where friends may call after 2 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Avon Methodist Church or to Beacon of Hope Hospice.
