Eureka - Gary R. Knoll, 62, of Eureka, formerly of Lowpoint, passed away at 4:35 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 19, 2013, at Maple Lawn Health Care Center in Eureka.
He was born on July 28, 1951, in Peoria to Lloyd and Beverly (Raney) Knoll.
Surviving are two brothers, John Knoll of Michigan City, Ind., and Larry Knoll of Washburn; one sister, Vernice Iunker of Washburn; three nieces, Audrey (Mike) Haney of Mackinaw, Kim (Jim) Wegstein of Washburn and Raney (Greg) Clark of LaPorte, Ind.; and nephew, John (Marty) Lynch of Farmington, Mo. Also surviving are three great-nieces, six great-nephews, one great-great-nephew and an aunt, Roma Hartter Belsly of Metamora.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a great-nephew.
Gary was a member of Oak Grove Church of the Brethren in rural Lowpoint and was a Bradley Braves fan. He enjoyed baseball, especially the St. Louis Cardinals.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 28, 2013, at Mason Funeral Home Metamora Chapel, with the Rev. Darryl Stonier officiating. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Cremation rites have been accorded with burial of ashes to take place at Oakwood Cemetery in Metamora.
