Sonny was a member of New Mount Sinai Missionary Baptist Church.

He was an avid sports fan and loved all sports, especially basketball and football. His favorite team was the Dallas Cowboys. But his success and passion came from his undeniable talent of cutting hair.

Sonny leaves behind to cherish in his precious memories his parents, Angela Ford and Maurice Brown, both of Peoria, Ill.; two sons, Amar'e Ford and Jayvin McGee, both of Peoria, Ill.; one daughter, Ashani Ford of Chicago, Ill.; six brothers, Anthony, Tim and Maurice Brown, Matthew Shockley, Demarco Tate and James Jordon Jr., all of Peoria, Ill.; five sisters, Tonette Brown of Atlanta, Ga., and Rebecca Forest, Mary Burnside, Cassandra McGee and Cynthia Boles, all of Peoria, Ill. Sonny also leaves behind a girlfriend whom he loved very much, Jennifer Hearn; and a special brother, Lavarris Compton. As long as there are people who will love and remember Sonny, he shall never die.
