WENONA - Mr. Harold J. Kennell, age 84, of Wenona, Ill., passed away and went to be with Jesus on Saturday, Aug. 9, 2014.
Harold was born on Aug. 11, 1929, in Roanoke, Ill., to Peter S. and Sarah Keller Kennell. On Aug. 2, 1955, he was married to Louise M. Miller of Buffalo Center, Iowa.
A member of Cazenovia Mennonite Church, he was a farmer who had a humble, simple faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one infant daughter, Karen Kay Kennell; three sisters; and one brother.
He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Marillou (Marli) Kennell of Estes Park, Colo., and Patricia (Ted) Sobel of Oakridge, Ore.; one son, Jeffrey (Laurel) Kennell of Wenona; and seven grandchildren, Grace, Rose, Peter, Emily and Daniel Kennell and Jazlin and Sonya Sobel.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 14, 2014, at Cazenovia Mennonite Church in Cazenovia. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today, Aug. 13, 2014, at the church. Burial will be in Roanoke Mennonite Cemetery in rural Roanoke.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Cazenovia Mennonite Church designated missions.
