CREVE COEUR ~ Rose E. Sparkman, 83 of Creve Coeur, passed away at 1:27 a.m. Sunday, April 10, 2016 at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria.
Born April 13, 1932 in Hannibal, MO to Lewis and Velma (McCullough) Fox, she married Herbert Sparkman on September 16, 1950 in East Peoria. He survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Debra Osmundson of Creve Coeur, Delinda Rentsch of Pekin; five grandchildren, Jennifer (Ben) Thompson of Livingston, MT, Andrea Hieronymus of East Peoria, Andrew Osmundson and Jason Osmundson, both of Peoria and Tommy Hieronymus of East Peoria; two great-granddaughters, Anissa and Autumn Hieronymus, both of East Peoria and two brothers, James (Sharon) Fox of Wee-Ma-Tuk and Robert (Elsie) Fox of Springfield.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two daughters, Deanna Hieronymus and Denise Harris.
A homemaker, Rose had worked for Caterpillar, Inc. from 1950 until 1953 in the mailroom.
She was a former member of First United Methodist Church in East Peoria.
A loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Rose enjoyed knitting and crocheting. She was an excellent seamstress who enjoyed making dresses for her daughters. She loved being outdoors, feeding the hummingbirds, flower gardening and her lilac bushes.
Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday, April 15, 2016 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. The Rev. James C. McClarey will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Lewy Body Dementia Association, 912 Killian Hill Road, S.W. Lilburn, GA 30047.
