PEORIA - Gertrude "Trudie" L. Kummer, 70, of Peoria passed away at 4:10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 22, 2007, at Lutheran Hillside Village in Peoria Heights.
She was born Oct. 20, 1937, in Chicago Heights, daughter of Alfred and Emma (Doermann) Kich. She married Ronald E. Harms on April 23, 1960, in Chicago Heights. He preceded her in death on Sept. 1, 1974, in East Chicago, Ind. She later married Earl Kummer on Oct. 15, 1977, in Peoria. He preceded her in death on Dec. 13, 1995, in Peoria.
Surviving are one daughter, Vicki Harms of Peoria; one son, Steven (Johanna) Harms of West Peoria; eight grandchildren; one sister, Ruth Stelter of Chicago Heights; and one brother, Richard (Judy) Kich of Schaumburg.
Trudie worked as a bookkeeper at Consolidated Properties in Peoria.
She also enjoyed her time at home with her family.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Peoria, where she was also a member of the Woman to Woman Club, the Lutheran Women's Missionary League and was a Stephen Minister. She also was a member of a pinochle card club.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 25, 2007, at Trinity Lutheran Church, with the Rev. James Bettermann officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Woolsey-Wilton Funeral Home in Peoria. Committal services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 26, 2007, at Skyline Memorial Park Chapel in Monee, Ill., with the Rev. William Metzger officiating.
Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church in Peoria or the American Diabetes Association.
