William F. "Bill" Rogers, 83, of Plain City, passed away at home Monday morning, Jan. 7, 2013.
Born Feb. 22, 1929, in Columbus, Ohio, to the late Lewis F. and Mary (Louch) Rogers.
He will be greatly missed by family and friends and his loyal dog Ginger.
Bill retired with 34 years with Columbia Gas of Ohio.
He was a Korean War Army veteran.
Preceded in death by wife of 57 years, Lina Marie (Vaughn) Rogers in 2010; son, Timothy Jay Rogers in 1982; daughter-in-law, Tina (Brofford) Rogers in 2000; brothers, Virgil A. Rogers; and sister, Gladys Shronk.
Survived by son, William F. (Myrna) Rogers Jr. of Plain City; daughter, Sonja Marie Rogers of Galloway; grandchildren, Tonya (Ted) Bolin, Freddy (Jessie) Burchett, Kelly Rogers, William F. Rogers III, Timmy, Amy and Ricky Rogers; nine great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 9, at Maranatha Community Fellowship, 6240 Lucas Pike, Plain City, where the funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 10, 2013. Pastor Elton Yutzy will be officiating. Burial will be at Foster Chapel Cemetery, West Jefferson.
