Doloros S. Florence, 94, of Plain City, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2012. at The Sanctuary at Tuttle Crossing of pneumonia.
Born Oct. 4, 1918, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Doloros was a civilian secretary for The Inspector of Navy Materials office during World War II and homemaker later in life.
She enjoyed growing roses and reading mysteries. For many years she corresponded with Bible students in several African countries. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and spent many hours in prayer for family, friends, and Christian ministries.
Member of Discover Christian Church.
Preceded in death by parents, Benjamin and Mildred (Schaffer) Shipley; husband, Walter T. Florence Jr. in 2004.
Survived by children, Nancy Florence, Kathy Florence, Sally Florence (Thomas) Royse, Walter (Elizabeth) Florence III; grandchildren, Emily Royse (David) Green, Amanda Royse, Austin Royse, Wyatt Royse, Olivia Royse, Walter Mitchell Florence, Hannah Florence; brothers, Richard (Ruth) Shipley.
The family received friends from 2-5 p.m. Friday, Dec. 28, at FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME, 202 E. Main St. (state Route 161), Plain City, where the Funeral will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 29, 2012. Pastor Allan Morris will be officiating. Burial will be at Forest Grove Cemetery.
