VERNON LEE MARTIN
MARYSVILLE — Vernon Lee Martin, 88, of Marysville, died Monday, Dec. 9, 2013 at his residence.
Vern retired from O. M. Scott and Sons in 1985 and relocated to Fort Myers, Fla. where he enjoyed the sunshine, fishing, gardening, and serving in his church, Cypress Lake United Methodist Church. He returned to Marysville in August 2011 to be near his family. While in Florida he worked for Publix for 10 years.
Born March 13, 1925, in Amlin, Ohio, he was the eldest son of the late Fay Emerson and Sarah M. Renner Martin. He was also predeceased by a granddaughter, Ashley Rose Martin; sister, Donna Marie Dunlavy; and brother, Ralph Emerson Martin.
Vern was loved very much, always brought a smile to those he encountered, and will be missed by those who survive, including his beloved wife of 60 years, Rose Ann Woodworth Martin; children, Deborah Gail Davis and friend of Columbus, Ohio, Sharon Ann Guisinger (Roger) of Milford Center, Ohio, Sheila Lee Pettit (Terry) of Gaffney, S.C., Dean Alan Martin of Marysville, Ohio, Jody Lynn Meeker (Phil) of Marysville, Ohio and Vernon Bradley Martin (Carol) of Plain City, Ohio; grandchildren, Brian Shane Neill (Christa) of Austin, Texas, Brady James Pettit (Angela) of Granite Bay, Calif., Andrea Lee Jenkins of Gaffney, S.C., Laurel Nicole Mock (Josh) of Fairfield, Ohio, Dustin Michael Martin (Connie) of Austin, Texas and Tyler Preston Meeker of Cincinnati, Ohio; great-grandchildren, Cody and Makenzie Jenkins, Levi and Clara Mock, Clover and Maeva Neill, Emma Martin; sisters, Margery Wagner of Upper Arlington, Ohio and Marlene Wade of London, Ohio; numerous step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 14, 2013, at INGRAM FUNERAL HOME, 975 N. Maple St., Marysville. Funeral services will immediately follow at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Aaron Brown officiating. Private burial will be in Milford Center Cemetery at a later date.
