JOHN R. WILSON
PLAIN CITY - John R. Wilson, 72, of Plain City, passed away Sunday afternoon, June 1, 2014 at the Riverside Methodist Hospital.
Born Oct. 16, 1941 in Columbus, Ohio.
U.S. Army veteran. He retired as a horse groomer for Russ Baldwin at Scioto Downs and from Miller Refuse in Plain City after many years of service.
Preceded in death by his parents, John F. and Virginia May (Gray) Wilson; brother, Gary A. Wilson in 2003; and brother-in-law, Ben Kurtz in 2009.
Survived by his loving sisters, Jeannie (Jim) Matyskella of Dublin and Bernadine Kurtz of Plain City; sister-in-law, Nancy Wilson of Plain City; several nieces and nephews; step-daughter, Melinda Dodd.
The family received friends from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, June 3, at the FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME, 202 E. Main St. (state Route 161 W.), Plain City, where the funeral was held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 4, 2014. Rev. Charles R. Godfrey officiated. Burial was at Forest Grove Cemetery.
