Walter Huber officiating.  Burial will follow in the Portales Cemetery with Bryan Luce, Jimmy Looney, Jerry Griffin, James Griffin, Steve Richardson and Paul Thornton serving as pallbearers.  All family and friends will be honorary pallbearers.
Charlene Seales was born November 24, 1941, in Clovis, NM, to Fern and J. W. Luce, and died September 3, 2008, in Clovis, NM, after a brief illness.  On October 30, 1957, she was married to Clark Seales.  They celebrated 50 years of marriage in October 2007.  She was a member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church.  During her adult life, Charlene had lived in New Mexico, Arizona and Texas.  While living in Arizona she worked at a grain elevator, and while living in Muleshoe, TX, Charlene worked at a local bank.  She also liked driving a truck.
Charlene enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.  One of her great joys was taking her children and their families to the lake for a week or two at a time.  She enjoyed fishing and traveling.  Halloween was special to her as she thoroughly enjoyed dressing up for the occasion.  Charlene loved music, especially Elvis recordings.  She was a regular at the Senior Citizen's dances where she often made special requests.  While her children were in school, she volunteered to sponsor 4-H events, as well as anything to do with their schools.  She also helped with Vacation Bible Schools at their church.  Charlene loved everybody and everyone loved her.  If you were fortunate enough to know her, then you knew someone loved you.  She was everyone's "sunshine!"
She is survived by her husband, Clark Seales of the home; two sons and daughters-in-law, Keith and Margaret Seales and Kevin and Pauline Seales all of Portales; 5 grandchildren, Robbie (Marlin) Derk of Sumter, SC, Heather Seales and companion, Jeremy Dupuis of Ware, MA, Rodney (Lindsey) Seales of Deming, NM, Doug (Nkoshe) Seales of Portales and Tina (Phillip) Chemali of Kansas City, MO; 5 great-grandchildren, Kayla Derk of Sumter, SC, Andrew and Keira Seales of Portales and Felipe and Jessica Chemali of Kansas City, MO; seven brothers, Nolan Luce of Phoenix, AZ, Jack Luce of Tatum, NM, Joe Luce, Jr. of Portales, NM, Ed Luce of Tulsa, OK, F.
