Donald M. Bandoli passed peacefully on December 20, 2009, at the age of 89. Mr.Bandoli was born March 23, 1920, in Eau Claire, WI. He moved to Milwaukee, WI, in 1942, where he spent 40 years at A.O. Smith Corporation as a tool and die maker and plant supervisor. He was a proud World War II Veteran. He retired in San Diego 28 years ago. In retirement, he worked part-time as a Bank Courier in Rancho Bernardo for 16 years.
He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Shirley. He is also survived by son, Donald C. (Barbara) of North Las Vegas, NV; daughters, Barbara (Dean) Kakuda of Mission Viejo, CA, and Carole (Michael) Tarantino of Rancho Bernardo, CA; and sister, Margaret (Fred) Resener of Eugene, OR. He was known as a proud "Papa" to 10 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by 7 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Alan (Pam) of Ojai, CA.
Services for Mr. Bandoli will be held on Thursday, January 21, 2010, at 3:00 p.m. at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery in San Diego, CA.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Donald to the USO or The Salvation Army.
