Grace Booth Obituary

Grace Booth, 69, long time La Jolla area resident, passed away on July 29, 2013. She was born on April 9, 1944, in Coronado, CA, to Dr. and Mrs. William Booth, the first of their four children.
Grace spent her formative years in both Coronado and La Jolla. She attended schools in San Diego and Pasadena and then finished at the Villa Mercede in Florence, Italy.
She married Gary Anderson in 1962 in La Jolla and soon after their two children were born. They moved to England where they trained as Waldorf teachers. Thereafter they taught at the Waldorf School in Honolulu for several years.
Grace also had a lifetime interest in health and was self-employed with her nutritional business. When she moved to San Diego to be closer to her family, she extended her interests to gardening and even built several raised vegetable beds for her community.
Grace was passionate about her faith and made it the focus of each day. With a history of respiratory difficulty, Grace knew that each day was a blessing. She loved her family dearly and spent what time and energy she had with them.
She leaves behind a daughter, Moira Sustaeta; son, Jason Anderson; and granddaughters, Isabella, Victoria and Alexandra. She is also survived by her sister, Jane Booth Young; brothers, William and Donald Booth; and extended family. Grace was predeceased by her mother, Jane Booth Baker, and her step-father, Joseph Lee Baker, who were well known in the La Jolla community.
Several days before her death, while in the hospital, a nurse commented on the sparkle in her eyes. Grace had said that she was ready to go "home". She is, indeed, in her Heavenly home.
A memorial service is planned on August 22, 2013, at 1:30 p.m. at La Jolla Presbyterian Church Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to: The International Bipolar Foundation, 895Towne Center Dr. #105-360, San Diego, CA 92122.

If I am correct with my information for Grace Booth......I have fond memories.

Graces father Dr William Telford Booth was a treasured and esteemed doctor to the Chinese Community in San Diego about 1942 until he passed away. He was the Dr to 4 of my siblings births. My Brother TELFORD was named after Dr Booth. My parents were elated to have a son after 2 gals.

Our family heard news that Dr Booth died in a plane crash into a mountain transporting a patient. This was extremely devastating news for our whole family and community. I am 86 and have fond memories of Graces mother Jane and Dr Booth. They welcomed our family into their elegant home in Coronado. Jane was the most elegant woman.
I did not know Grace resided in La Jolla. Our family had lived in La Jolla since 1950's. I was La Jolla High Class of 1955. How I wished we knew Grace was iiving in La Jolla. Its a small world. I live in Palo Alto and would love contact with Graces family incase any of her children are in Northern California. I also remember Bill Booth. We had many fond memories and I would love to connect with Grace family. My sympathies for your loss of Grace.

Gracie,
You and Gary and the Waldorf community in Hawaii embraced me with love and support. Your Waldorf inspired home, your hospitality and your energy. Remember exercising in the Rock Point ocean pool? I still do the exercises you taught me there. When I was in Hawaii you were there, when I was in La Jolla you were there, and when I was in Arizona in college Jason was there, another connection to you. Blessed be on your journey.--Linda Jones Easter
