Nadine Dodge Obituary

Nadine Knights Dodge, age 97, passed away peacefully at Pomerado Hospital surrounded by family on March 16, 2012. Nadine was born in Iowa in 1914. She was an English major at Monmouth College and graduated in 1936. Nadine was a founding member of the Pi Beta Phi sorority.
She is survived by her daughter, Kay Dodge Rickles; son, Richard Knights Dodge; granddaughter, Kim Nadine Davis; and great-grandchildren, Hailey Nadine Davis and McKenzie Alexandra Davis.
Nadine met her husband, Lour Charles Dodge, in 1936, married in 1937. Nadine and Lour moved to San Diego, California, in 1975 and lived happily together for 59 years. Nadine resided in Rancho Bernardo, California, until her death.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the P.E.O. organization, established for assisting and funding education for women. Nadine was an active member of P.E.O. and Chapter UV for 65 years. Please mail donations to: 12608 Bendito Drive, San Diego, CA 92128, noting Nadine's name when sending the donation.
"Grams" will be genuinely missed. Her charm, wit and sophistication will forever be fondly remembered. What a great honor to have had Nadine in our lives for as long as she was able to be with us.

Nadine was a member of the North San Diego Pi Beta Phi Alumnae group for many years. I was saddened to hear of her passing. I will pass her obituary on to Pi Beta Phi Headquarters and the Arrow Magazine.
