Eddis Hoffman Obituary
Eddis Hoffman of Rancho Bernardo, CA, died peacefully after a brief illness on May 16, 2014. Born in Meriden, CT, on February 6, 1930, Eddis was the daughter of the late Stephanie (Kusza) and John Martancik.
Eddis was a graduate of Southern Connecticut State University and received a Master's Degree in Library Science from USC. During her career, she held many positions within the Los Angeles Library System. Eddis had been an avid skier and tennis player, and her many interests included music, art, travel, bridge and gourmet cooking. She was a long time member and treasurer of The Rancho Bernardo Branch of The American Association of University Women and enjoyed membership in The Rancho Belles.
Eddis was predeceased by her beloved husband of 36 years, Edmond; her brother, Daniel Martancik; and sister, Justine (Martancik) Black. She is survived by her two brothers, John Martancik and his wife, Arlene, of Cape Cod, MA, and Lawrence Martancik and his wife, Judy, of Meriden, CT. Auntie Eddis will be deeply missed by her nieces and nephews and their children.
It was her wish that no service be held. Private Inurnment at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery San Diego, CA, will be held at a later date.
