Betty M. (Fritz) Hallock
SANDUSKY: Betty M. (Fritz) Hallock, 86, of Sandusky passed away early Monday morning, February 25, 2013, surrounded by her family at Firelands Regional Medical Center, Main Campus, Sandusky.
Born on July 20, 1926 in Port Clinton, the daughter of the late Sylvester John and Gertrude Agnes (Ambrose) Fritz. She was a 1944 graduate of Port Clinton High School and a 1947 graduate of Mercy Hospital School of Nursing, becoming a Registered Nurse. She had worked at Providence Hospital for 39 years, before retiring. Betty enjoyed reading, working on cross-word puzzles and spending time with her family. She especially loved going out to lunch with the girls.
Betty was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, the Altar Rosary Society, the Mercy Hospital School of Nursing Alumni, P.H.O.N.A. (Providence Hospital Old Nurses Association) and an honorary member of the Providence School of Nursing Alumni.
She is survived by her family, Mike "Buck" (Diane) Hallock of Sandusky, Kathy (Steve) Nestor of Huron, Beth (Mike) Sandwisch of Port Clinton, James (Michelle) Hallock of Murfreesboro, TN, Tim (Michelle A.) Hallock of Norwalk, Dan (Jennifer) Hallock of Sandusky; 17 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren; two brothers, John Fritz of Port Clinton and Jerry (Nancy) Fritz of St. Paul, MN; sister-in-law, Shirley Petrick of Sandusky.
Besides her parents, she also was preceded in death by her husband, Leslie C. "Spare" Hallock on April 15, 2010; a brother, Bill Fritz; two sister-in-laws, Dorothy "Dort" Fritz and Elva Fritz.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 27, 2013, from 5-9 pm at the David F.Koch Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 520 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky. A Liturgical service will be held that evening at 8:45 pm at the funeral home. Prayers will be recited Thursday morning, February 28, 2013, at 10:40 am at the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 510 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky. Fr. Marty Nassr officiating. At her request, cremation will take place following the services. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Sandusky.
