PORT CLINTON: Jonathan Brenton Blessing, 28, of Port Clinton, died unexpectedly Wednesday, August 1, 2012 at his summer residence on Put-In-Bay. He was born on February 28, 1984 in Norwalk, OH to Charles Blessing and Maria (Solis) Blessing.

Jonathan graduated from Port Clinton High School in 2002 and earned an associates degree from Terra Community College. He was currently working as a bartender at Mr. Ed's on Put-In-Bay.

Jonathan enjoyed listening to bands, collecting sports memorabilia and driving his 63' Chevy BelAir, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his friends in Port Clinton and those on Put-In-Bay.

Jonathan is survived by his father: Charles Blessing of Port Clinton; mother: Maria Blessing of Port Clinton; brothers: Christopher and Shane Michael Blessing both of Port Clinton; cousin: Shantel Solis of Port Clinton; and grandfather: Alberto Solis of Port Clinton.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother: Bertha Solis; and paternal grandparents: Bryce G. and Mildred (Armstrong) Blessing.

Visitation for Jonathan will be from 3-8 p.m. on Monday, August 6, 2012 at the Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 216 Washington St., Port Clinton. The funeral mass will be conducted at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 7, 2012 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Port Clinton beginning with prayers offered at the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. prior to mass.
