SANDUSKY: Robert C. Alley,December 4, 1933 - October 10, 2012,

78, residing in Sandusky, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday evening, at his residence. Robert was born on December 4, 1933 in Victor, WV to the late Lester and Russie (Dempsey) Alley.

Robert was a graduate of Anstead High School in West Virginia. He was a veteran of the US Army and proudly served his country from 1956-1958. He retired from the former Celotex Company after 43 years dedicated service.

Robert was a member of the Eagles Aerie #444. In his spare time, Robert enjoyed crossword puzzles, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren; and his great-grandchildren.

Robert is survived by his daughter Karen (Jeffrey) Brunner; six grandchildren Stephanie Parsons, Jennifer (Josh) Pickens, Jessica (fiance David Best) Brunner, Kerrie (Ryan) Glass, Kellie (Matthew) McClellan, Joseph Brunner; eight great-grandchildren, Carl Morehart, Zachery Morehart, Addison Pickens, Aubrynn Glass, Cameron McClellan, Caden McClellan, Carter McClellan, Phoenix Brunner; two brothers, Lewis Alley of Pickerington, Larry M Alley of West Palm Beach, Florida; his uncle, Pete Keith of Elyria; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

In addition to his parents, Robert is preceded in death by his wife of 33 years, Janet Alley; his son, Robert Michael; his daughter, Rebecca at birth; sister, Norma Alley; brother, Hugh Alley; and his companion of 20 years, Nora Jordan.

Friends may call on Sunday, October 14, 2012 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, and on Monday from 10:00 a.m until the time of Funeral Services at 11: 00 a.m, at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E Perkins Ave, Sandusky. Chaplain Mel Saylor of Stein Hospice will be officiating the service. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery, Sandusky, Ohio.
