MARION: Sharon I. Avery-Lamalie went home to her precious Lord and Savior on Thursday, December 6, 2012, surrounded by her loving family.

Sharon was born on July 7, 1942, in Toledo, Ohio, to Charles Wesley and Thelma Charlotte (Lute) Hawkins. She was the proud mother to David Avery of North Carolina, Donise (Joe) Bickerstaff of Oklahoma, Danny (Debbie) Avery of Perrysburg, Richard (Vickie) Avery of Oak Harbor, Steve Avery of Marion, also, Ernie (Cindi) Avery, Larry (Evelyn) Avery, James (Judy) Avery and Cathy (John) Lorton all of Oregon, and Sharon Avery of Toledo.

Sharon thoroughly relished every minute she spent with her 30 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. She was proud of their accomplishments and cherished their every successes.

She recently moved to Marion, Ohio, to reside with her son, Steve. While raising her children and during her retirement, she resided in Oak Harbor, Fremont and Elmore, Ohio. During her time in Marion, she became a member of the Prospect Street United Methodist Church, where she attended the Serendipity Sunday School class. While residing in northern Ohio, she was a member of the Eagles and Moose lodges. Sharon was a fantastic cook and enjoyed sharing her dumplings with chicken, sage dressing, vegetable soup and monster cookies. She always appreciated a fountain pop and a good laugh during visits.
