HYPOLUXO, FL: Victoria Thoresen, 75, of Hypoluxo, FL and Catawba Island, OH died January 18, 2013 at her residence in Hypoluxo.
Victoria was born December 18, 1937 in Cleveland, the daughter of the late Vern and Evlyn (Scott) Hakes. She married Lee Thoresen on March 22, 1959 and he survives. Victoria was a 1956 graduate of Edina High School, Edina, MN and she received her associate degree in Arts from Stephens College, Columbia, MO. Prior to devoting her time to raising her family she was the receptionist for all the executives of Standard Oil where she excelled in customer relations. Victoria and Lee were also bicycle racing officials and were both officials at the Atlanta Olympics. She loved to socialize with friends and family and later in life she devoted her time to caring for her parents.
Surviving are her husband: Lee; daughter: Tracyleigh (John) Rice of Pittsburgh; sons: Lance (Susan) Thoresen of Burnsville, MN, Todd (Milka) Thoresen of Crete, IL; grandchildren: Rebecca, Hannah, Alex, Jack, Charlie and Lana Rice, Emery, Peter, Avery, Natalie and Caroline Thoresen, and Jessica and Leila Thoresen.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Robert Hakes.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 am Saturday, January 26, 2013 at St John Lutheran Church, Port Clinton, OH. Visitation will be held Friday from 2:00 - 4:00 pm at Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral,
1124 Fulton Street, Port Clinton, OH. Interment will be in Catawba Island Cemetery.
