FOSTORIA: Corrine J. Bauer, 88, of Fostoria, passed away unexpectedly Sunday evening, October 28, 2012, at her home.
She was born February 14, 1924 in Bloomdale to the late Heberon C. and Idella M. (Dillon) Steiner. She married Fred J. Bauer on June 18, 1955 in Fostoria, and he survives in Fostoria.
Also surviving are three children, Michael J. Bauer, Fostoria, Patricia A. Bauer, Put In Bay, and Rosemary M. (Guy) Tibbels, Marblehead; two grandchildren, Tug and Annie Tibbels; stepdaughter, Elvira (Hugo) Legrand, Germany; a brother, Hubert Steiner, Fostoria; and two sisters, Alice Hendricks, Vanlue and Verna Smelser, Fostoria.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Virgil Dillon, Carl Steiner and Wilber Steiner; and two sisters, Alma Insley and Carrie Frizzell.
Corrine was a homemaker, and had worked at the former Flechtner Packing, Fostoria. She was a member of St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria and had been involved with its RCIA program. She was a 1943 graduate of Arcadia High School. Corrine will be dearly remembered for her cookie baking and the love she shown for her family, especially her grandchildren.
Visitation is Thursday, November 1, 2012, from 2-4 & 6-8 pm at HOENING FUNERAL HOME 242 W. Tiffin St., Fostoria, where a Christian Wake service will be held at 3:45 pm. Mass of Christian Burial is Friday, 10:30 am at St. Wendelin Catholic Church, where a Rosary will be prayed at 10 am. Burial will follow in St. Wendelin Catholic Cemetery.
